These two examples shows flawed characters ini Levi. He is fast to anger in the case of Deanna and becomes jealous very easily in the case of yoef. In both cases he let his actions speak rather than his words, something a true tzadik should not do.
The shevet of Levi was a very honorable shevet. The Ramban explains that Shevet Levi was the one tribe of Bnei Yisroel that was never enslaved by the Egyptians. Since the tribe of Levi was constantly involved in Torah study, they merited special Divine protection, even in Mitzrayim this highlights their nature of Torah dedication and ultimately dedication to hashem which is cemented with the fact they did not take part in the golden calf and kept their faith in hashem.
The leviim never had to work in Egypt because they were always studying Torah, obviously here he this man is not studying Torah but he is in fact relaxing which was something the leviim could take part in, because they didn't have to work.
